MEmotion
MEmotion is an interactive kinetic sculpture. At first glance, it appears motionless, but as soon as you approach it, it "comes to life" and takes on a character of its own. Using Expression Recognition, it can capture the facial expressions of the viewer and adapts to their facial expressions. Like a mirror image, it imitates the recognized expression and depicts it through movement and body language.
Despite its abstract, non-human appearance, the sculpture's movement gives it a certain liveliness. Thanks to its folded form and structure, it can contract and tilt in all directions. It curiously follows the observers as they move through the space. It is intended to encourage us to question how we will react to objects and machines in the future that can recognize and interpret our emotions. Can we use them to sharpen our perception of our own emotional state?
